Mercury Mirror
A downloadable game
Mercury Mirror is a game about examining a collection of objects from another place and time in order to find out who it belonged to, where they came from and what happened to them. It is a diceless, GMless, prompt-based exploration inspired by the likes of Noirlandia and Delver which lends itself to collaborative play, allowing you to generate pasts and worlds indirectly through the artifacts that have survived them.
Whether you are interested in a library of ancient texts, a moldy box of occult artifacts, a vault of existential threats, a village enclosed by a wall or the personal effects found on a derelict airship, Mercury Mirror supplies the tools to describe them in detail and create modular mysteries out of the answers on the fly. A session requires two or more players, no advance prep and generally about 3-4 hours of playtime to fully unpick a collection's mysteries. It is suitable both as a standalone game as well as a worldbuilding tool for a larger campaign, offering you a subtler, more indirect approach focused on capturing the feel and attitudes of a generated setting.
